Night Guard
The bite plate is an acrylic appliance, which can be worn day and/or night, that prevents the upper teeth from coming into contact with the lower teeth. It attaches to the chewing surface of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw and allows you to bite on the plate rather than the teeth. Occlusal plaque is often recommended when teeth are worn (bruxism) or when there is jaw pain (TMJ).
The occlusal plate is custom-made from impressions of the teeth to optimize comfort and retention. The life span of the occlusal plate is normally a function of the amplitude of bruxism.
